Details of Prison Phone Service from V Connect and How It Works

What Is The Advance Pay Service From V Connect?

Family and friends of inmates are able to receive collect calls from inmates from several jail phone services, such as V Connect. V Connect offers this facility with the help of the Advance Pay service. This is very beneficial to inmates and their families in several situations where it is not possible for inmates to call their families with the normal collect call from the correctional institutions. This is due to some restrictions that may be placed on the phone number for the following reasons:

1.  There is a block placed by the phone company on the telephone number for collect calls

2.  VAC does not have a billing contract with the local telephone company.

3.  The monthly calling limit that VAC has allowed for the number could have been reached and they have suspended the account for this reason.

In all of the above situations, the collect calls from prisons are not allowed for the particular phone number, and with the help of prison phone services from V Connect, the person or family can receive calls from inmates through an Advance pay account. Once the family starts accepting the calls from the correctional facility, the costs are deducted from the prepaid account.

Families have a number of options for making payments towards this prison phone service from V Connect. They can use cashier’s checks, money orders, credit cards or debit cards. An additional convenience fee is added for the transaction through these methods, which is separate from the additional charges for MoneyGram.

As for the rates of the calls, in the case of the Advance pay account from V Connect, they will vary according to the location of the phone and its distance from the correctional facility. But V Connect also offers inmates the ability to transfer the funds of their Advance Pay account if they are transferred to another location, providing the location to which they are transferred engages V Connect services in their correctional institute. If the account is inactive for a period of three months, an amount of $4.95 will be deducted per month. This is an inactivity charge and will be levied until the calls resume. If the account remains inactive, the charge will continue to be deducted until the prepaid amount is depleted.

Quote of the moment: “Don't let the opinions of the average man sway you. Dream, and he thinks you're crazy. Succeed, and he thinks you're lucky. Acquire wealth, and he thinks you're greedy. Pay no attention. He simply doesn't understand.” - Robert G. Allen Read
